Frankincense
The medicinal applications of frankincense oil are first heard of in ancient Egypt, around 1,500 B.C. where it was used to treat asthma and respiratory conditions.
Since then, frankincense and its calming, gentle scent has been used to comfort those who are feeling anxious, stressed, or nervous to strengthening the immune system.
It is still used today in natural remedies to treat respiratory related illnesses such as bronchitis, congestion, and asthma.
Frankincense oil has been, and still is, used extensively in traditional Chinese medicine both orally, topically and in surgery due to its purported antibacterial properties and ability to promote blood flow.

In the first century AD, we can read about medicinal uses for lavender by Greek botanist and physician De Materia Medica however, lavender essential oil had already been in use for over a Millenia by this time.
From the ancient Egyptians, through to the Israelites and Romans, lavender was used with cleansing oils for washing and scenting. In fact, it's name originates from the Latin verb 'lavare' which means to wash.
Lavender essential oil with its sweet, floral and herbaceous aroma is probably the most well-known of the essential oils.

Clove
Pure Clove Essential Oil's dominant ingredient is eugenol, which is one of the most powerful antiseptic and anti-inflammatory oils known.
This incredible oil comes from the dried buds of the Syzygium aromaticum L. tree, indigenous to the Spice Islands of Indonesia.
A single tree over an entire year will only produce around 150ml of the oil.
The oil has been recorded since the Han dynasty in China in the second century BC, through to 18th century Britain, where the clove buds were worth their weight in gold.
